The most notable difference between the 2 sources, Nielsen/NetRatings and comScore Media Metrix is that Nielsen/NetRatings shows only Yahoo searches performed on Yahoo-branded websites, such as Yahoo.com, but it does NOT include searches performed on Yahoo-owned sites: AltaVista, AllTheWeb and Overture. The statistics of comScore Media Metrix show searches perfomed on all Yahoo-owned websites as "Yahoo". comScore's statistics also display searches performed on any Ask-owned Excite Network as "Ask".
